This project is a local initiative based on the award-winning documentary Alive Inside by Dan Cohen. This film documented the powerful, immediate, positive impact of music on individuals dealing with neurological conditions including MS and Alzheimer’s disease.
Alive Inside has triggered international responses to establish similar personal music programs. Inspired by this, the Peterborough Council on Aging has assembled community agencies and local health service providers to establish a sustainable, long-term iPod program for individuals with dementia.
